George Kenneth Vaught Jr.

George Kenneth Vaught Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, at the age of 72.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 17, 1951, George lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

George was a devout Christian. He read the Bible in its entirety always putting Jesus first in his life.

George was a patriotic individual who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication were commendable, reflecting his unwavering commitment to the principles he held dear.

He was an avid sports lover. From a young age, his #1 passion was baseball. After high school he was elected to his high school’s baseball all-star team eventually being drafted by the Cardinals and also the Giants where he played minor league. He also excelled in football and track during high school and later came his passion for boxing, becoming a Golden Gloves boxer while in high school and in the army. All of these showcased his determination and strength throughout his life.

George had numerous other interests including a love for animals, traveling, classic cars and fishing.

Family was of the utmost importance to George. He was a devoted father to his son, Jason, instilling in him values of hard work, kindness and a zest for life. In July of 1993, George married Victoria Kelly and together they shared a deep and loving bond with laughter, companionship and unwavering support for one another.

George will be dearly missed by his entire family, including his brother Martin Vaught and sister Linda Bolton and husband Darrel.

He was predeceased by his father George Kenneth Vaught Sr., mother Elsie Vaught, and brother Bobby Lee Vaught. George also leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
