Gary Lynn Jeanes of Fort Worth, Texas, age 73, passed away Sunday, May 5th, 2024, in his home. Gary was born October 10th, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Billy Joe Jeanes and Geraldine Jeanes (Wahle). He grew up in Arlington, Texas and in the late 70s moved to his property in Fort Worth, Texas, where he would later build the home in which he lived for the rest of his life.
Gary spent the early part of his career in the 1970s working at Eddy Williams Man’s Shop, then for Bell Helicopter, and lastly LT Vought where he worked in direct assembly on the MLRS space shuttle. In 1983, Gary decided that he was done working for other employers and opened Jeanes Landscaping and Maintenance, into which he poured his love of art through planting until retirement in 2019.
He is preceded in death by father Billy Joe Jeanes, mother Geraldine Jeanes, son Tyler Francois Jeanes, and nephew Grant Colton Vardeman. Gary is survived by sisters Terri Day and Sherri Vardeman, brother-in-law Cole Vardeman, children Jessica Jeanes Tielli and Chad Garrett Jeanes, their mother Adele Jeanes, son-in-law Tony Tielli, daughter-in-law Brittany Jeanes, niece Ashley Holbrooks (husband Rusty Holbrooks), nephews Conner and Garrett Vardeman, grandchildren Jackson Tielli, Tyler Jeanes, Evelyn Tielli, and Madelyn Jeanes, and great-niece Reagan Holbrooks. One of Gary’s most defining characteristics was the love he had for his family, and he spent as much of his retired years as possible with his grandchildren.
