Freddie Jean Littleton

Freddie Jean Branam Littleton, age 89, passed away peacefully in Mansfield, Texas, on June 16, 2024.

Born in Van, Texas, on November 30, 1934, to JM Branam and Rudy Dell Pyron Branam, Freddie graduated from John Tyler High School in 1953. She was a Football Sweetheart and cheerleader while attending White Oak High School prior to moving to John Tyler High in 1953 for her senior year. She was the smallest cheerleader on the squad and could fit inside their megaphone!

Freddie moved to Arlington in 1953 where she attended the University of North Texas in Denton and the University of Texas at Arlington. She worked for Lone Star Gas Company and Enserch Corp as an auditor for the Lone Star Gas offices. She retired in 1998.

She was married to Bobby Joe Littleton for 25 years. Freddie was known to everyone as “Grammy”. She was a very independent lady and loved her grandchildren. She was all of 4′ 8″ tall and walked at least three miles every day. She loved the outdoors, did all her own yardwork for many years and did as many of her home repairs as possible by herself.

Her grandsons, Austin and Brydon Wilson, were the joy of Freddie’s life. She bought season passes to Six Flags and Wet ‘N Wild every summer and took them as often as possible. She never missed one of their soccer, football or baseball games. Freddie’s second love was the Texas Rangers, and she went to many of their games. She lived long enough to see them win the 2023 World Series! The Rangers’ mascot, “Captain”, even came and visited her before her passing. Freddie loved it and all the fanfare and would not let go of Captain’s hand!

Freddie was preceded in death by her parents, JM Branam (who passed in 1991) and Rudy Dell Pyron Branam (who passed in 1966); sister Vondell Branam Waldrep (who passed in 2022); brother Kenny Doyle Branam (who passed in 2012).

She is survived by her daughter Joni Littleton Wilson and her husband Chuck Wilson of Arlington; son Mark Littleton of Arlington; grandson Austin Wilson and his wife Laurel Wilson of League City; grandson Brydon Wilson and his wife Blair Wilson of Mansfield; great grandchildren Keagan, Kennedy, Hudson and Sloane Wilson; sister Paula Knight Bradshaw and her husband Curtis Bradshaw of Mesquite; nephew Rick Waldrep; nieces Shari Walker and Stacie Knight and sister-in-law Jan Knight.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Highlands Village Assisted Living in Mansfield for taking care of Freddie as well as friend, Alex Nogueira.
