Preston “Buddy” Rose

March 26, 1953 — January 28, 2025

Ft. Worth

With both heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we announce the passing of Frank Preston Rose III, who peacefully left this world on January 28, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on March 26, 1953, in Minot, North Dakota, Preston devoted his life to education, inspiring countless students throughout his distinguished career. He served in several school districts, including Joshua ISD, Granbury ISD, and Grand Prairie ISD, where his influence will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to learn from him.

Preston is survived by his cherished wife, Lillian Rose, and their loving sons, Adrian and Phillip Rose. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication, touching the lives of all who knew him. His passion for teaching, his deep faith, and his love for family and friends made a lasting impact that will continue to be cherished.

Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice Rose. He was a true and loyal friend, maintaining meaningful connections, particularly through his vibrant Facebook friendships. Preston had a special place in his heart for Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and enjoyed indulging in spicy green and red chile. His faith was the foundation of his life—he gave his heart to Jesus in his early 20s, living with joy and love while sharing his faith with others.

A lifelong music lover, Preston enjoyed listening to The Beatles, Three Dog Night, and praise choruses. He will be deeply missed by his sons, their wives, his grandchildren, and his devoted sister Margaret, who was always a constant source of love and support. He also shared an extraordinary bond with his lifelong friends, Doug Calles and Ted Cabal, who stood by his side for over 50 years.

Preston earned a Master’s in Education in 1980 and received the Lamar Award for academic excellence. A dedicated member of Grace Community Church since the 1990s, his commitment to his faith and community was unwavering. He had been looking forward to celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with Lillian on July 16, 2026, with a special trip to Taos, a place he loved dearly. Preston also cherished the holiday seasons, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, making them even more memorable for his family.

As we honor Preston’s life, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in our hearts, and we will carry his memory forward with love and joy.
