Francis Leona Phillips, 82, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
She was born on May 19, 1941, in Malakoff, Texas to John D. Dehay and Lucile Nation Hill Dehay and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Francis was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. They created many cherished moments together.
Raised in Malakoff, Francis embraced the Texan spirit with her warm heart and welcoming smile. She had a knack for making people feel at ease in her presence and was loved by all who knew her. Her compassionate nature and genuine kindness touched the lives of many. She graduated from Isbell’s University of Beauty Arts and remained passionate about her career as a beautician for over 40 years.
Francis was an active member of her community, known for her dedication to volunteering at local charities and lending a helping hand to those in need. Her selfless acts of kindness inspired those around her and left a lasting impact on the lives she touched. She was also an active member of Handley Meadowbrook Lions Club.
Outside of her philanthropic endeavors, Francis had a love of pottery and sewing. She enjoyed spending hours creating unique articles which brought her immense joy. Her creativity was a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her children, David Wayne Phillips, Sandra Kelly Walker and partner, Ron, Michelle Annette Bradshaw and husband, David, and Misty Dawn Phillips-Gerth and husband, Jerry Gerth; grandchildren, George Weston Walker, Forrest Edwin Walker, Chazz Aaron Gonzales and Joshua Dale Gerth; and great-grandchildren, Serenity Moon Walker and William George Walker.
Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Francis’s life will be held at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway on Saturday, September 16, at 12 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable life of Francis Leona Phillips.
Francis touched the lives of so many, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love, compassion, and generosity.
