Frances Parsons Rucker

Frances Parsons Rucker went to be with Jesus on May 10, 2021. A memorial service will be Saturday, May 22, 1 p.m. at Grace Covenant Church, 3402 W. I-20, Arlington. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. A private burial service will be held Friday, May 21. Frances was born on July 23, 1947 to Tommy and Faye Parsons in Roby, Texas. She attended high school in Sweetwater where she graduated in 1965. She graduated with a B.S. in Education from Texas Tech University and a Masters from Texas Christian University. She married Bob Rucker December 17, 1977 in Arlington where they lived for 43 years. Frances moved to Arlington in 1969 to begin her teaching career at South Davis Elementary. She also taught at Miller Elementary, always sixth grade and usually as the lead teacher. Later at The Oakridge School she taught fifth grade language arts. She retired from teaching in 2013. Church and serving the Lord was center to Frances' life, in partnership with husband, Bob. They were charter members of Grace Covenant Church and Frances was active in Women's Ministries, Worship and Missions Committees. Frances served along side Bob on the Board of GO International and together they went on more than 20 short-term mission trips to Europe, Africa, Central and South America. In Bible Study Fellowship, Frances served in both administrative and small group leadership roles. Frances and Bob loved to travel and in addition to their missionary travels, visited countries in Europe, Middle East and South America. Survivors: Husband, Bob Rucker; sisters-in-law, Trinka Boggs and Nancy Suggs; brother-in-law, Gary Boggs; nephews, Wendell Boggs, Robert Boggs and Charles Suggs; niece, Tyndall Martinez; and 14 great-nephews and nieces.
