ARLINGTON -- Floyd "Harry" Thomas Harrison, 73, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Arlington. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday in Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with the Rev. Mark Carr and the Rev. Kenny Lowry officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. Harry was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Arlington to Ardie Harrison and Margie J. Simpson Harrison. He was a lifelong Arlington resident and member of Arlington Community Church Harrison Chapel. His family was the pioneer Arlington family who donated the land for the Harrison School and Chapel. Harry was a 1955 graduate of Arlington High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an automobile dealer in Arlington and Fort Worth for many years. He loved boating, gardening and his beloved pets. His most treasured loves were his family and grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Ruth Avrett; and a brother-in-law, William Allen. Survivors: Wife, Hazel Harrison; son, Todd Harrison and wife, Denise; grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher and Clayton Harrison; sisters, Betty McKnight and husband, Adolph, Sarah Allen and Frankie Dennehy and husband, John; brother-in-law, Allen Avrett; stepdaughter, Coni Thomason and husband, Monty; five stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a multitude of loving friends.
