ARLINGTON -- Evelyn James Mills, 85, passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 in Arlington.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alban's Anglican Church, 911 S. Davis Dr., Arlington with Rev. Edward Kresowaty officiating.

Evelyn was born September 8, 1928 in Nottingham, England to Charles and Hilda James. She married Alex Mills of London on June 3, 1946 and they recently celebrated 68 years together. She had been a resident of Arlington since 1954. Evelyn retired after 25 years of service with University of Texas at Arlington in the news and information department.
She was a longtime dedicated servant of St. Alban's Anglican Church in Arlington. Evelyn was a member of the Arlington Woman's Club and served as a docent for the Fielder Road Museum in Arlington. Her interests included her grandchildren, sewing and jewelry making. Evelyn had a passion for all animals, especially cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John James.
Survivors: Husband, Alexander Leslie Mills; son, Christopher L. Mills and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Kimberly Gayle and Jeffrey Brian Mills; and a host of friends.
