ARLINGTON -- Eloise "Weese" Taylor Grimes, 90, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Arlington.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, in Mission Park South in San Antonio. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, with the Rev. Russell Jonas III officiating.
Eloise was born April 2, 1923, in Arcadia, La., to Robert Clavie and Jewel Taylor. She was raised in Arcadia. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington for the last nine years and Methodist churches for the years preceding. Eloise enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge and Scrabble. She attended Texas A&I University and was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. Eloise was an Arlington resident since 2005. Prior to that she lived in Nacogdoches for 29 years and in Bryan, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
Eloise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, M. Ken Grimes, on Jan. 9, 2009; baby brother, Rodney Clavie Taylor, in 1929; and son-in-law, Dr. Kurt Schember.
Survivors: Daughter, Sheri Schember Quick and husband, Dr. James Campbell Quick, of Arlington; son, Robert K. Grimes and wife, Becky, of Boerne; grandchildren, Kyle Schember, Kari Lu and husband, Jimmy, Jefferson Grimes and wife, Erika, Jordan Grimes and wife, Whitney, and Molly Kate Grimes; and great-grandchildren, Piper, Braelee, Porter and Taylor.
