Elizabeth Jane Junkin

January 16, 1938 — June 4, 2016

MANSFIELD-- Elizabeth Jane Junkin, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, June 4, 2016, in Mansfield. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Pecan Grove Memorial Cemetery, McKinney. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Elizabeth (known as Liz by all her friends) was born in McKinney, Texas on January 16, 1938 to the late Clyde and Letha Jay. She proudly played basketball for the Mesquite Skeeters in her high school days prior to meeting her late husband, James Wilson Junkin. They were married soon after on October 30, 1955. Although they officially only had 4 children David, James, Steve and Elizabeth they were foster parents for 43 different children over a number of years and had many others that they treated as their own. Liz loved her family including all 6 of her grandchildren and her 7 great grandchildren. Her family was the second most important thing in her life running a close second to her first priority, her faith. She enjoyed traveling especially to Hawaii with her late husband and made that trip 6 times. She also loved time spent with all her family, including the infamous Sunday night game time where some of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would have dinner followed by playing games board games. Survivors include three of her children and spouses, James and Lu Ann Junkin, Steven Junkin, Elizabeth and Ervin Campbell, Eight grandchildren and spouses, Christopher and Rhea Junkin, Courtney and Brent Frette, Eric Junkin, Daniel Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Alex Campbell, Abbi Campbell and Elijah Campbell. She also has 6 great grandchildren, Makena Junkin, Koah Junkin, Hannah Junkin, Savannah Junkin, Peyton Junkin and one Heavenly angel, great granddaughter Paislee Ann. Although saddened by her departure we rejoice that she is in heaven holding Paislee Ann and holding hands with her husband. Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
