Elizabeth Hart Cooper

Elizabeth Hargis Cooper, 90, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2021.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Cooper; her parents, Calvin and Margaret Hargis of Texarkana, Tx.; her siblings, Annadelle Pettit, Virginia Hildman and Calvin Hargis.

She is survived by her children, Mark E. Cooper of Arlington Tx; Lisa C. Cooper of Willis Point, Tx.; and Janet E Adams of Coppell, Tx.; Her beloved grandchildren, Jacqueline E. Ash, Whitney A. Song, and Abigail Barnes. Her great grandchildren, Ethan Ash, Joseph Song, Izzy Song, Dominick Barnes and Colton Barnes. She is survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom all had a special place in her heart.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Texarkana, Tx. She worked for Red River. She then attended Ouachita Baptist University where she met her husband of 50 years in golf class.

They were active members of First Baptist Church of Arlington since 1976. They were active members in the Adult Couples Sunday School class for 30 years. They made lifetime friends whom they shared many adventures with and supported one another through life’s ups and downs.

She worked for Arlington Independent School District for 20 years.

Elizabeth had an infectious smile and enjoyed making people laugh. She made a new friend almost every day.

During their retirement years they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. They took every opportunity to travel and escape the Texas heat.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas with Reverend Wally Williams officiating.
