Elizabeth Ann Wright Pitstick passed into eternal life on Wednesday morning, February 16, 2022 in Arlington, Texas. She was 95 years old.
Ann was born November 26, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas. After being raised in Columbus, Texas, Ann attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her degree in Education and met her husband of 56 years, William J. “Bill” Pitstick. Ann taught elementary school in 5 Texas cities-Austin, Columbus, Kerrville, Lubbock and Arlington while raising 4 children. Her young family arrived in Arlington in 1956 when Bill accepted the position of City Manager. Ann continued her teaching career at Swift and Duff Elementary schools and received her Master’s Degree from TCU in 1975. She inspired her students with her energetic and positive teaching style. Ann retired in 1991 after 30 years of teaching.
She loved life, her family and many dear friends. Ann was active in the community and was a member of the Arlington Woman’s Club, Civic League, Athenians, Arlington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Gamma Sorority and First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. She also enjoyed socializing and playing bridge with her friends at Town Village Retirement Community in her later years. She was preceded into eternal life by her husband, William J. Pitstick and her sister, Mary Margaret Egan.
SURVIVORS: Ann will be lovingly remembered by her children, John and Karen Pitstick of North Richland Hills, Nancy and Kirk Brown of Hume, Virginia, David Pitstick of Medellin, Columbia, Jimmy and Lori Pitstick of Arlington, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many friends. Special thanks go to Community Hospice and caregivers Michelle Burnett and Melinda Rodriguez.
MEMORIAL SERVICES: The family will host a visitation on Thursday, March 3rd from 6-8 pm at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. A private family burial service will be held on Friday at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Ann’s Memorial Service, a Celebration of Life, will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 pm, First Presbyterian Church of Arlington.
