Elizabeth Ann Guetersloh was born in Lubbock, Texas on September 16, 1948 to J.N. and Margaret (Frizell) Porter. All her life, Ann’s servant heart shined through her dedication as true friend and a listening ear that made you feel like the most important person in the world.
After growing up in Lubbock, Ann moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree. On August 28, 1971, Ann was married to her first husband Rob Bertoia in Lubbock, where they lived for many years and had their one and only child Carrie. Ann held positions with multiple companies in Lubbock including St. Mary Hospital and most recently Texas Tech Rawls College of Business. As a mother, her house was always warm, inviting, and open at all times to the neighborhood kids. Outside of the home, Ann never met a stranger and was loved by all she encountered. On August 26, 2017, Ann started a new chapter of her life, marrying her second husband Billy Guetersloh. Ann and Billy lived happily in Wolfforth and enjoyed travelling together in their RV and spending time with their friends and family. In early 2021, Ann moved to Town Village Crossing in Arlington to be close to her daughter. Her family will be eternally grateful for the opportunity to be so close to Ann, for the fantastic care she received, and for the many new and meaningful friendships she made. Ann’s passions in life were her family, her savior Jesus Christ, being the best Granny to her grandkids, and sharing her birthday with her daughter Carrie who she declared to be her “greatest treasure and gift.” We are so proud of Ann’s continuous ability to fight through difficult times and bounce back each time with a smile and a witty comment. We are grateful now that she is at peace and fully healed with our Father in heaven, and we look forward to the day we will see her again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.N. and Margaret Porter; and husband, Billy Guetersloh.
Survivors: Her brother, Jim Porter and wife Candy, sister Sarah Carter and husband Tom; brother-in-law Bill Blann; daughter Carrie Irons and husband Jason; grandchildren Jackson and Ella Irons; nephew Dave Blann and wife Melissa; niece Susan Mingolla and husband Steve; nephew Nick Porter and wife Claire; niece Maggie Moore and husband Lenny; and many grandnieces and grandnephews, who collectively adored her.
