Elida Esperanza Cruz, 80 años, de Canton Agua Caliente, Departamento La Union, El Salvador C.A. fallecio en Arlington, Texas el 5 de junio del 2024 rodeada de amor y su familia. Hija de Vicente “Chente” Marquina y Ernestina Benitez. Le precedieron en la Muerte sus padres, esposo Jose Cornelio Cruz, hija Mayra Yesenia Cruz y su perrito nieto Marley Cruz.
Elida Esperanza conocio a su esposo Jose Cornelio Cruz en su pueblo natal de El Salvador en donde tuvieron sus sies hijos. Debido a la Guerra Civil en El Salvador, la familia decidio emigrar a Texas; su esposo se vendria con sus tres hijos mayores primero para establecerse antes que llegara el resto de la familia su esposo se vendria primero para establecerse antes que llegara el resto de la familia. Elida Esperanza llego a los Estados Unidos con sus dos hijas menores en 1984. Primero residiendo en Houston, Texas y luego reubicandose en Arlington, Texas en 1987. En 1991, Jose y Elida Esperanza compraron la casa que un dia pudieron llamar propia. Casa en la cual en algun momento vivieron casi todos sus hijos y nietos. Elida Esperanza fue una madre, hermana, abuela, y bisabuela devota y cariñosa. Era muy cercana con todos sus nietos, y una madre para su nieta Sulma Yasenia desde el dia de su nacimiento; las dos eran inseparables.
En el 2006, logro los que muchas personas desean, convertirse ciudadana de los Estados Unidos. Trabaj en el hospital Arlington Memorial por muchos años hasta que se jubilo en el 2007. Era una Christiana devota y disfrutaba mucho attender a su iglesia Apostoles y Profetas de Arlington. Durante su jubilacion le encataba cocinar, viajar a su tierra natal, y pasar tiempo con sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos, y sus major amiga, Martina Amaya.
Su corazon siempre estuvo lleno de amor y compassion. Le sobreviven sus hijos Osbal Benitez, Ovidio Benitez, Melvin Benitez, Sulma Fernandez, Antonia Del Carmen Cruz; nietos Mayra, Erica, Sulma Yasenia, Nelson, Rosa, Victor, Uriel, Elmer, Jason, Osbal Jr. Yasmin, y Azael; y bisnietos Garrick, Kayla, Archie, Nicolas, Romeo, Jayden, Angel, Jonah, Lucas, Yericka, Ayeli.
Elida Esperanza Cruz, 80 of Canton Agua Caliente, Departmento La Union, El Salvador C.A. passed away in Arlington, Texas on June 5, 2024 in her home surrounded by love and family.
She was born to Vicente “Chente” Marquina and Ernestina Benitez. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jose Cornelio Cruz, daughter Mayra Yesenia Cruz, and fur grandson Marley Cruz.
Elida Esperanza met her husband, Jose Cornelio Cruz, in her hometown in El Salvador, where they went on to have six children. Because of the Civil War in El Salvador the family decided to migrate to Texas, having her husband and her three eldest children settle in before their arrival. Elida Esperanza arrived to the United States with her two youngest daughters in 1984 to Houston, Texas and later moved to Arlington, Texas in 1987. In 1991, Jose and Elida became proud homeowners, fulfilling their dream of having a place they could call their own. At one point, that tiny home housed nearly all of her children and most of her grandchildren. Elida Esperanza was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was close to all her grandchildren; however, since birth, she took on the role of mother for one of her granddaughters, Sulma Yasenia. They were inseparable.
In 2006, she was proud to become a U.S. Citizen. She worked at Arlington Memorial Hospital for many years until her retirement in 2007. She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed her time at her church Apostoles y Profetas of Arlington. In her retirement she enjoyed cooking, traveling to El Salvador, and spending endless time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and best friend Martina Amaya.
Her heart was full of love, compassion and pride, she is survived by her children Osbal Benitez, Ovidio Benitez, Melvin Benitez, Sulma Fernandez, Antonia Del Carmen Cruz, grandchildren Mayra, Erica, Sulma Yasenia, Nelson, Rosa, Victor, Uriel, Elmer, Jason,Osbal Jr., Yasmin, and Azael, great-grandchildren, Garrick, Kayla, Archie, Nicolas, Romeo, Jayden, Angel, Jonah, Lucas, Yericka, Ayeli.
