Edward Herbert Esstman, 80, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 12:45 pm in Mansfield. A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, July 8th, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington 76013. Funeral Services will be on Friday, July 9th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be on Tuesday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Tx 75211. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Mansfield Methodist Hospital, Mansfield ISD Education Foundation, DFW Wreaths Across America or the Alzheimer's Association. Ed was born on December 27, 1940 in Centralia, Illinois, to Sam and Elinor Esstman. Ed grew up in St. Louis, but lived in Kansas City, Mo, Arlington, Tx, Vernon Hills, Illinois and finally retired in Mansfield, Tx. He was extremely proud that he had the opportunity to have served his country as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. Ed loved Mansfield, where he has lived for the past 29 years. He had a successful career in the car finance business, retiring from AmeriCredit in Fort Worth. He loved to golf, relax in the mountains, and spend quality time with family and friends. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Carol, who passed away in 2019; his parents; brother, Len; sister-in-law, Bernice; and nephew, Bryan Esstman. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Esstman Johnson and husband Rife; and precious grandsons, Leif, Brady and Logan; sisters and brothers, Janet and Leo Dressel, Mike and Julie Esstman and Dana and Al Peterfeso; dear family members, Pam and Mike Clark, Diane and Jim Gummersheimer; many nieces and nephews; and an endless circle of friends.
