Eduardo Bocanegra, 78, passed away on January 28, 2023, in Arlington, Texas.

Eduardo was born on February 27, 1944 in San Benito, Texas, to Fernando and Elodia Bocanegra. He was a migrant worker and worked his way up to become an Executive Chef. Worked 4 yrs at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, then ventured on to DFW Marina Hotel, AW Harris Faculty Club. He enjoyed learning new cooking techniques throughout his career.

Eduardo married Carmen Hernandez on January 5, 1964. The couple had two children Edwardo Bocanegra Jr. and Norma Bocanegra. He was responsible and always fulfilled his duties diligently. He was someone who we could count on. He was always supportive of his children. He always helped family and friends when needed. He was a loving husband, father, grand parent. He was known for his metal detecting, loved fishing, and enjoyed creating ice sculptures.

Eduardo was a life member of Knights of Columbus with almost 36 continuous years of service having joined the Order on May 1st, 1987, Texas Chef Association, and the Elks Club, and worked elections.

Eduardo is survived by wife of 59 years, Carmen Bocanegra; son, Eduardo Bocanegra Jr.; daughter, Norma Ceske and husband Douglas Ceske; sisters, Ana Maria Silvia, Guillermina Galvan; grandchildren, Enrique L. Luis, Meagan Luis, Anthony Luis, Daniella Luis, Raymond Luis, Janet Luis, Daniel Ceske, and Maritza Ceske. He loved his 6 great-grandchildren, Abigail Lopez, Sophia Luis, Nathaniel Luis, Eliana Luis, Jayden Luis, and Jeremiah Luis.

Eduardo is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Elodia Bocanegra; brother, Braulio Bocanegra; sisters, Maria Molina and Ofelia Bocanegra.

A memorial service for Eduardo Bocanegra will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Celebration of life gathering immediately following the service at Knights of Columbus on 2625 S. Cooper St. Arlington, Tx.
