GRAND PRAIRIE -- Edna Earle Strong, 85, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 950 Mayfield Rd., Grand Prairie. Interment: Southland Memorial Park, Grand Prairie. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Edna Earle was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Crandall to William Arthur Boykin and Opal Mercedes Boykin. A resident of Grand Prairie for the past 65 years, she had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1958. Edna Earle owned multiple businesses in Grand Prairie with her husband, Bill Strong.
She was the former president of the Woman's Club of Grand Prairie; active in the PTA and March of Dimes; and a member of the Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce and Grand Prairie YMCA; as well as other charitable organizations.
Edna Earle was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Strong, on Sept. 7, 2015.
Survivors: Daughter, Jeannine Worthington and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Matt Worthington and wife, Ryan, and Erika Yentes; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dylan, Reese, Cole and Price.
