Edgar Lee Boteler, born on July 24, 1925, in Venus, Texas, to Walter Harley and Lillian Fleta Boteler, passed away on March 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rojean Boteler.

He is survived by his four children: Marla (Charles) Little, Debra (John) Hoffman, Becky (Daniel) Moore, and Blake (Tamra) Boteler; along with 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply. Edgar was also preceded in death by his brothers, John C. Boteler and Otis W. Boteler, and his sister, Elizabeth Metcalfe.

A graduate of Polytechnic High School, Edgar later earned his degree from Texas Wesleyan College. His career as a Landman included positions with Stanley Petroleum, Champlin Petroleum, and Vierson and Cochran Companies.

A proud World War II Navy veteran, Edgar served as Gunners Mate 3rd Class, demonstrating his dedication and service to his country. During his time in the service, he was on a Minesweeper in the Pacific.  He was an active member of Midlothian Methodist Church, where he found joy in fellowship and community.

Known for his sense of humor, integrity, and patriotism, Edgar was a man of strong character and boundless love for his family. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Texas Rangers on TV, and was deeply committed to his loved ones. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, with family being the cornerstone of his life.
