Earnest Wesley Carter Sr, 88, passed away on June 27, 2023, in Arlington, TX.

Earnest Carter Sr,. was born on September 24, 1934 in Leland, Mississippi to Albert Carter and Mariah Frazier Carter.
One of thirteen children. Earnest moved to Detroit went to Central high and started his career as a materials handler and went on to work in the paint shop for Ford Motor Company for 38 years. Earnest was active in the labor Union. He was a UAW committee man that handled grievances with employees. Earnest was admired by his peers and co workers. He was also a Mason.

Earnest was married in holy matrimony to Lucille (Nelson) on May 20, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. The couple had 2 Children out of that Union Teala Maria Carter and Ernest Wesley Carter Jr he made a comfortable home for his family
and loved his wife of 42 years of marriage.

Earnest suffered a stroke in 2009 and survived it. He persevered.

Earnest moved to Arlington, Texas in 2010 and lived with his son. He then moved to Houston for a year to spend time with his daughter. He finally returned to Arlington to spend the rest of his days with son Ernest Jr. and daughter-in-law wife Kim Carter.

Earnest was best known for the love of his family. His love of Trivia and he was a knowledge seeker. Also his good nature wanting to make sure everyone was alright and being taken care of. He was loved by many and was known as a nice guy.

Earnest is survived by daughter Teala Maria Carter Booker, son Ernest Wesley Carter Jr (Kim Carter) daughter in-law, sister Ruby and brother Cleo (Gloria) Carter, grandchildren Tiffany Rose Carter, Maranda Silvey Carter, Ernest Wesley Carter III, Royce Tyger Carter, Vincent Keith Booker Jr, and Vinh Pham, and great grandchildren Braydon Rutland Carter, Julianna Rose Carter, Jesiah Santos Carter, Jeremiah Amir Carter, Jreme Rose Carter, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Earnest is preceded in death by wife Lucille Carter (2002) his parents; brothers, Albert, Louis, Frank, John, Eugene, Jessie, Jimmy Carter; sisters, Jessie Mae, Mattie, Earline and Christine.
