ARLINGTON -- E.C. Deaton Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Arlington.
Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Private Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ben Hur Transportation/Sun City Shrine Club, 7811 Rockwood Lane, Austin, Texas 78757.
E.C. was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Groveton to E.C. Sr. and Ima Deaton. He was a 1949 Sam Houston State University graduate. E.C. was an Arlington resident at Town Village for the past two years, after living in Sun City and Farmers Branch. E.C. was married to the love of his life, Jackie, for 64 years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. E.C. was a 50-year Master Mason of the Masons Grand Lodge of Texas. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation and a member of the Ben Hur Sun City Shrine Club. E.C. served on the Resident Council of Town Village and also was a Kiwanis Club of Arlington member.
Survivors: Wife, Jackie Deaton; daughter, Connie Deaton Gauntt and husband, Doug, of Arlington; son, Craig Deaton and wife, Vanita of Plano; granddaughters, Kimi Golden, Briana Meixelsperger, Heather Perez and Hannah Deaton; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, Cindy Griffith, Linda Archer and Faye Reed.
