Douglas Harbart Shelton Jr.

November 29, 1955 — June 20, 2024

Douglas H. Shelton, Jr., 68, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

After graduation from Richard King High School, he attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Later in life, he attended Tarrant County Community College in Fort Worth, Texas.

Most of Doug’s 40-year career was in the retail and merchandising business. He enjoyed listening to all types of music, his favorite being smooth jazz. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling, gardening, Yahtzee and disc golf. Doug was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Benedict Parish in Fort Worth, Texas.

Doug was preceded in death by his father Douglas Sr. and mother Katherine S., and sister Katherine S. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Adriana R.; daughter Lisa C. and husband W. Brandon Williams; son Douglas III and fiancee Kristin A.; sister Lynn S. and husband Robert E. Bailey; sister Gale S. and husband Ralph McCloskey; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Wade Funeral Home & Crematory, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas, 76013, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2920 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth Texas, 76106. Graveside service will be at Calvary Cemetery, 3200 Cannon Drive, Mansfield, Texas 76063. Reception to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76017.
