Doug Luttrell

Douglas “Doug” Luttrell moved from his Arlington home to Heaven on June 21, 2022.
Doug is survived by his wife, Diane Wilson Luttrell. His daughter Robyn and his son Andrew.
Doug was preceded in death by three Brothers:
Richard Lee Luttrell, Walter Stanley Luttrell, and Jeffery Lynn Luttrell and is survived by one Brother, Don Alan Luttrell Sr. and his wife, Nancy Luttrell. Niece and her husband, Melissa and Brad Marrow, and their children Lauren and Ronnie. Nephew and his wife, Don Alan Luttrell Jr. and Lindsey Luttrell, and their children: Kade, Jace, and Aavin.

Doug was born on September 22, 1951 to Homer Lee and Lillian Ament Luttrell. He attended WH Adamson High School and obtained his GED before serving in the US Navy where he began his education in Computer Technology. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1974 then received an associate’s degree in Technology from Control Data Institute. Doug then held positions as a Field Engineer and Technical Engineer with several local companies until his medical retirement in 2008. Doug joined Trinity United Methodist Church on September 1, 2002 were he was a member of the New Covenant Sunday School class, United Methodist Men, an Alpha Course Leader and a Stephen Minister. .

Doug loved Jesus, his family, and his friends. He loved fixing things, not just technology but was skilled in numerous mechanical disciplines. He enjoyed Star Trek and identified with Lieutenant Worf because Klingon’s were ‘a warrior race that held family and honor in the highest regard’.

Doug did not want a service or memorial. What he did want was to be remembered for his love of the Lord, this country, Texas and his devotion to his family. He will be dearly missed.
