Dorothy Ann Strahl

Dorothy Ann Olson Strahl, 94, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Arlington, Texas.
Dorothy was born on May 30, 1928, the fifth child of Lee and Esther Olson. After graduating from high school in Buffalo Center, Iowa, and several years after her return from a trip to California, Dorothy met the love of her life, Carroll Strahl. They were married on June 9, 1948. Early in their marriage, they had two daughters, Shelley JoAnn in 1949 and Candis Leanne in 1951. Dorothy and Carroll welcomed their son, William Carroll, in 1957.
Carroll’s career took the family from a one room school house in the Superior National Forest to the ancient city of Kabul, Afghanistan. Upon returning from Asia, Dorothy worked as a Health Aid at Eisenhower Elementary School for over twenty years, where she made many lifelong friends.
Dorothy cherished her five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Strahl. She is survived by her daughter, Candis Low of Arlington, Texas and son, William Strahl of Windemere, Florida, her sister, Marilyn Mueller of Randall, Minnesota, and her brother, Curtis Olson, of Blaine, Minnesota.
