Dorothea "Dotty" Kimble

Dorothea “Dotty” Kimble passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, at the age of 97. Dotty was born on March 9, 1926 in Harlem, NY, to Elizabeth and Bernard Bernesser and grew up in The Bronx, NY. In 1953 she met the love of her life, Bob Kimble. The two were married for 40 years until Bob’s passing in 1995.

Dotty was a kind, intelligent, compassionate woman, a remarkable mother, grandmother, and wife who taught us all what it means to love unconditionally. Dotty was exceptionally witty and had a contagious laugh and beautiful smile that brightened up every room she entered. A voracious reader, Dotty was actively playing Mahjong and attended exercise classes well into her nineties.

Dotty was a devout Catholic and long-time member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. She had a great devotion to Our Blessed Mother, was active in her church and community, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dotty is survived by her daughter Diane Tanner, son Thomas Kimble, grandchildren Daniel Kimble and Megan Harris, great-grandchildren Raylen Barnes, Joseph Valdez, and Robert “Bobby” Kimble, and pre-deceased by her husband Robert Kimble and son-in-law Larry Tanner.

Rosary at 10:30AM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maria’s at 11:00AM.
