Doris Laverne Layne, 85, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Arlington. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Doris was born on April 4, 1932 in Garner, Texas to William Daniel Duvall and Ila Lee Measures Duvall. She was a legendary 5th grade teacher at Butler Elementary in the AISD. She was also a loving and doting Mimi to her grandchildren that she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ila Duvall; and brother, Bobby Duvall. Survivors: Husband of 65 years, Marvin Layne; daughters, Kelly Owens (Wallace) and Sara Meredith (Jim); brother, Huelyn Duvall (Sandy); sisters, Ruth Baca (E.J.) and Carolyn Price; grandchildren, Rachel Owens Smith (Andy), Abby Owens, Parker Meredith and Amy Meredith.
