Doris Heinz

August 29, 1940 — February 23, 2025

Doris "Dory" Alvina Caito-Heinz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles "Pop" Caito and LaVerna Weiss-Caito.

Dory was a proud graduate of Ritenour High School, where she was honored as the 1958 Senior Class Queen. She went on to work as a secretary at McDonnell Douglas before dedicating her life to family after marrying the love of her life, Mel Heinz. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on February 14, 2025.

A woman of faith and kindness, Dory devoted over a decade to teaching Sunday School at Pantego Bible Church and volunteered as a Pioneer Girl Leader, shaping young lives with love and guidance. Her generosity and warmth were well known-whether greeting trick-or-treaters with joy or insisting that every visitor stay for supper, her home was always filled with love.

She is survived by her son, Richard "Rick" Heinz of Desdemona, Texas; daughter, Cindy Heinz-Heitzman and husband, John, of Arlington; grandchildren, Bianca Heinz-Chafin and husband, Chad, Rich Heinz, Jake and Carson Heitzman, Heather Waters, and Justin Pollock and wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Matthew, James, Aaron, and Chris Chafin, Breanna Coan and husband, Brenton, Shaelyn Waters, Gage and Abel Heinz, Jackson, June, and Jameson Pollock; great-great-granddaughter, Annabelle Coan; brother, Charles "Buddy" Caito; sister, Carol Boeger; and countless cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Janice "Jan" Caito-Williams.

Dory's radiant smile and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
