Donnie Jo Brooks, a native Texan born on October 22, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Arlington, Texas. She was the daughter of Reagan and Lorene Henson. Donnie was a talented violinist, devout in her faith, and had a green thumb for gardening. Known for her knack for fixing things, she was a dedicated wife to the late John Dillard Brooks and a loving mother.

Having worked for civil engineers for 25 years, her expertise was valued and appreciated. She cherished family gatherings and spending time gardening and working in the yard.

Donnie was preceded in death by her parents, Reagan and Lorenee Henson; beloved husband, John Brooks; and son, Ron Brooks.

She was survived by son, Jon Brooks and wife, Michelle; daughter, Holly Lynn Low and husband, Gary; sisters, Linda Kirchman and Gina Eakins and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Reagan Trainer (Carson), Shelby Brooks (fiancé, John), Avery Brooks and Cole Brooks; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Palmer.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral services to celebrate the life of Donnie Jo Brooks. The ceremony will be held at Wade Family Funeral home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway Arlington, Texas 76013 on April 13, 2024 at 2pm. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm prior to funeral service.

Donnie’s warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering determination will never be forgotten. In her memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived and the joy she brought to those around her. She will forever be cherished and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Donnie is now gracefully playing the violin in God’s heavenly orchestra for all eternity.
