Donna Jeanne Flenniken

September 24, 1942 — March 23, 2025

Arlington

Donna Jeanne Sanders Flenniken, 82, was born on September 24, 1942 in Sherman, Texas. She was the first-born of five daughters to Dalton and Regina Sanders. Donna graduated from Arlington High School in 1960. She attended college classes at Arlington State College and worked at Texas Instruments.

Donna left Texas Instruments and was married to Joe Flenniken in August of 1962. In the ensuing years, she was a housewife and a mother raising three children, whom Donna and Joe raised in church. Donna occasionally worked out of the home during these years, but her primary focus was always on her family. She loved her sisters and had many friends. After the children were grown, Donna continued to enjoy family and friends, and she loved caring for her dogs. When out in public, she was never ashamed to witness for the Lord Jesus. Throughout her life, and even more so after the passing of her husband Joe, she was very vocal about being ready to enter heaven with her Lord Jesus.

Donna went home to be with her beloved Lord Jesus on March 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kelly and husband Joe of 61 years. She is survived by son Joe and wife Bobbie, and son Jim. She is also survived by grandchildren Caroline Gassett, Hannah Drake and husband John, Sarah and Devin Flenniken, Suzanne Dorchester and husband John, Jessica Markwardt, Gregg Kidd and wife Chrissy; great-grandchildren Jason Byrd, Shelby Almance-Molinar, Abigail and Christopher Markwardt, Breegan Kidd, and Nola Drake. She is also survived by sisters Sandra Howie, Judy Graham, Nancy Ellerbee, and Joyce Whitley.
