Donald W. Ebert, born October 11, 1931, died August 23, 2012.
Don met his wife, Jan, of 58 years while lifeguarding at Glencoe Beach on Lake Michigan. He served 8 years in the Naval Reserves stationed at the Glenview Naval Base in Illinois. He owned Lake Wissota Marina in Chippewa Falls, WI, and later moved to Arlington, Texas where he was the Controller for Kelly-Moore Paint Company and later founded Donald Ebert & Company, Bookkeeping and Tax Service.
He loved woodworking and frequently made treasured gifts for his family and friends. He enjoyed sharing stories and telling tales with a wonderful sense of humor. He ushered at Lake Arlington Baptist Church where he was a long time member. After retiring, he volunteered as an usher at Bass Hall.
Don is survived by his wife, Janice, his daughters, Pam Ebert, Cari Ebert Starosta (Doug), and Lin Ebert Zabojnik (EJ), his son, Don Ebert, Jr. (Teri), 12 grandchildren,(Nicole Nicolais (Andy), Tim Allami, Inna Ebert, Andrew Ebert, Michelle Gonzales, Kristi Lee (Dave), Jesica McEachern (David), Matthew Zabojnik, Michael Zabojnik, Kim Fultz (Brian), LaShawna Blodgett (Brandon), and Dylan Ebert, and 9 great grandchildren, Victor Gonzales, Zach Deptewa, Hailey Sass, Josh Lee, Chloe Lee, Violet Nicolais, Yuri Ebert, Alexis Fultz, Kinsley McEachern. He is also survived by his two beloved pooches, Teddy and Peanut.
Visitation will be Sunday, 8/26/12, from 3:00-5:00 at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington. A Celebration of Don's life will be on Monday, 8/27/12, at 2:00 at Lake Arlington Baptist Church in Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
