Donald Ray Burke, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2023, in Mansfield.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Chaplin Rick Burgin officiating. Interment: Burke Family Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, January 21st at the funeral home.

Donald was born December 20, 1935, in Fort Worth, to Robert and Jessie Lou McDonald Burke. He graduated from Polytechnic High School. Donald served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea and was honorably discharged. He returned to Fort Worth and began working in the family’s business. After the family business was sold, Donald joined the Arlington Police Department. He retired in January 1996. During his tenure he received 30 commendations during his service career from the Arlington Police Department, various other local police departments, from other state law enforcement agencies and from various citizens. He was decorated 7 times with service awards including his 25-year service pin.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Nina Belle Walker Burke of 63 years and his brother Robert H “Bob” Burke.
Survivors: Numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.
