ARLINGTON -- Donald Lewis Nelsen passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in Arlington.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 West Park Row Drive, Arlington. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Donald's name to Grace Lutheran Church, the Braille Center #184, or the American Cancer Society.
Donald was born June 12, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., to Walter and Paula Engert Nelsen. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, Donald married Diane Lidholm and they began their life together.
Donald spent his career in metal sales with Intergress Metals, now Ryerson Metals. He was also a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington where he served as an elder, choir member and teaching confirmation classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Keith Bryon Nelsen.
Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Diane Nelsen; daughter, Connie; son, Gary Nelsen and wife, Gail; brother, Richard P. Nelsen and wife, Virginia; grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel and Timothy Stephenson, Julia and Allison Nelsen; and a host of family and friends.
