Donald Lafayette “Don” Dunkin, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Arlington after a long battle with kidney disease.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, at First United Methodist Church, 800 W 5th St, Fort Worth. Private Interment: Tate Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Justice Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth or Chancel Choir at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
Don was born on September 8, 1937 in Arlington to Reuben Edward Dunkin and Gladys Inez Williams Dunkin. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Don worked for Texas Electric Service and Oncor where he retired in 1993. He returned later as a contractor.
Don enjoyed reading, genealogy and working on computers. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emma Lee Lavender; and brother, Will Ed Dunkin.
Survivors: Wife, Ann Elizabeth Jones Dunkin; sister, Nancy Stepp; and a host of nieces and nephews.
