GRAND PRAIRIE -- Donald Bennett Freeman, 64, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 in Arlington.
Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2010 S. Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas 75051 with Bishop Michael Patterson and Lt. Steve Tonick presiding. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Don was born on September 14, 1948 in Blair, Nebraska to Virgil Bennett Freeman and Frances Elizabeth Houck Freeman. He was raised in Tekamah, Nebraska. He was in the U.S Air Force and stationed in Sembach Air Force Base in Germany. He served during the Vietnam era. Don was a lieutenant with the Grand Prairie Fire Department for 40 plus years and was the longest current City of Grand Prairie employee. He owned a corvette and loved Formula One racing and Texas Motor Speedway. Don enjoyed vacations and travel, Civil War, World War I and World War II history, and the history of our country. He loved all cars fast and loud, most of all he loved his family and friends.
Survivors: His beloved wife, Debbie Freeman; daughters, Andrea Freeman, Elizabeth Freeman, Julie Satterlee; sons, Andy Satterlee, Aaron Satterlee, Greg Satterlee; brothers, Larry Freeman and wife, Darlene, Jack Freeman; sister, Denise Freeman; aunt, Ethel Howard; nephews, Scott Freeman and wife, Kim, Allan Freeman and wife, Cindy, Jay Freeman, Aaron Freeman, and Kevin Lawson; two nieces, Kristi Harper and Kelly; and great-nephews, Devin, Trey, Cody, Brandon and Bryce.
