Diane Louise (Medenwald) Baumann, 78, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in the presence of her family. Diane was born on December 10, 1942, in Veblen, South Dakota, and grew up on her family farm near Hankinson, North Dakota.
Diane was raised in a Christian home and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Hankinson, North Dakota, where she was baptized and confirmed. These influences nurtured her faith and shaped her lifelong walk with the Lord.
Diane graduated from Hankinson High School in 1960. On June 27, 1964, she married Walter E. Baumann. They moved to Arlington, Texas in 1966, and joined Grace Lutheran Church. After short stints living in California and Maryland, they finally settled in Arlington where they raised their three sons and were active members of their church and community.
Diane lived a life dedicated to her Savior Jesus Christ, to her family, and to her numerous dear friends. Diane knew no stranger and poured her love into those around her. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and her thoughtfulness and generosity touched many lives.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Louise Medenwald and her brothers Charles Medenwaldt and Dean Medenwald. Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Walter; her loving children Troy (Cassandra), Todd (Rebecca), and Ryan; her sister Charlyne; her brothers Mark and Michael; and her half-sister Donna. Diane cherished her time with her six grandchildren Michael, Alexandria, Zachary, Braeden, Brinna, and Brooklynn.
Visitation will be Monday, April 26th from 6:00-8:00pm at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. Funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington on Tuesday, April 27th at 10:00am, with interment at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
