Dennis James Dickerson

ARLINGTON -- Dennis James Dickerson was born April 10, 1948 as the fourth out five children to Mildred and Joseph Dickerson. Dennis lost his father at age 5 which left his mother to raise him and his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. As a young adult, Dennis had a job working at the Post Office and used that income to put him through the New York School of Computer Programming jump starting his life long career with computers. On May 21, 1968 Dennis joined the US Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged May 15, 1970. At his Homecoming Party he met the woman that in 3 years on June 30, 1973 would become his loving and devoted wife Margarita. After moving to Twin Rivers in Heights Town, NJ, Dennis started and finished his schooling at Long Island University receiving his B.S. in Management June 9, 1978 while working for Chase Manhattan as a Computer Programmer. During his last years going to college Dennis and Margarita was blessed with a son and daughter. In January of 1981 Dennis made the big decision to move his family to Arlington, TX continuing his career as a Computer Consultant until 2002. Dennis joined Ruler in Isreal Baptist Church December 1985 and stayed a faithful member until death. In his leisure, Dennis enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, helping people, and living life to the fullest. Dennis Dickerson departed from his life Sunday June 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Dickerson. He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife Margarita Dickerson of almost 40 years, Son Marc B. Dickerson, daughter Denise Dickerson-Brooks and son in law Linon Brooks, oldest brother Joseph Dickerson and wife Berniece, two older sisters Delores Jackson and Carolyn Ramirez, youngest brother Alvin Dickerson and wife Alicia, grandchildren Justin, Jasmine, Jessica, Jason and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
