Dennis Bernard Beck

Dennis Bernard Beck, of Arlington, TX, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, in Arlington, TX. He will always be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, friend, and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was born in Amarillo, Tx on Tuesday, May 8, 1945, to Bernard and Adalene Lacey Beck. He attended Arlington High School, Arlington State College, Yankton College, and graduated from Texas Tech University. He also served in the United States Navy. Dennis taught Tai Chi and creative writing at T.C.U., retirement residences, and city recreation centers. He was a free-lance writer, avid reader, life-long learner and swing dancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Beck; sister, Barbara Beck Brown and her husband Ronald Brown. He is survived by his brother William Beck; sister-in-law Jeanette Beck; dear friend Sherry Welborn; 2 nephews and their spouses; 3 nieces and their spouses; 15 grand nephews and nieces; 1 great grandnephew and 1 great grandniece; and many loving friends. Memorials: In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity benefitting veterans or a charity of choice. Due to Covid, there will be no visitation or memorial service at this time. A private burial in Zephyr, TX will be determined for a future date.
