Delbert Lee Hurt

Delbert Lee Hurt, age 84, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2020. Delbert was born July 14, 1936 and grew up in Scottsburg, Indiana. Delbert served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. He moved to Texas in 1982 where he met and married Paula Marie Lenz in 1992. Delbert worked for General ElectroDynamics Corporation for over 30 years. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents Richard “Dick" Haney of Scottsburg Indiana and Mattie Haney of Charleston Indiana, his daughters Donna Marie Smith of St. Cloud, Florida and Carol Jane Bowman of Scottsburg, Indiana. Delbert was a quiet, gentle soul who loved bluegrass music, metal detecting, working with his hands, playing pool and other quiet pursuits. He is survived by his wife Paula and his children Robert Haney of St. Cloud, Florida, James Haney of Charlestown Indiana, Debbie Marzano (Gary) of Stanton, Kentucky, Lonnie Hurt (Maria) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Delbert B. Hurt (Jeff) of Lexington, Kentucky. Delbert was also loved by his 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. We all feel blessed to have had him in our lives!
