Dee Jowers-Riley

Dee Jowers-Riley passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday morning, December 18th, 2023, with her daughter, Debbie, at her side.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, December 21tst at Grace Community Church, 801 W. Bardin Road, Arlington, Tx, with Jonathan Scheffrahn officiating. Interment will be at the Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cedar Grove, Tennessee, on Saturday, December 23rd at 1:00 pm.

Dee was born April 9th, 1939, in Cedar Grove, Tennessee. She married Eddie B. Jowers on July 2nd, 1955. They were blessed with two children, Debbie and Tony. Ed and Dee were married for 39 years. The Lord called Ed home on May 31st, 1995.

Dee temporarily leaves behind her family who love her dearly; daughter, Debbie Roberts and husband Bruce of Arlington; son, Tony Jowers and wife Sandy of Midlothian; grandchildren, Sarah Scheffrahn, and husband Jon, Christopher Roberts and wife Holly, Brandi Ennis and husband Dawayne, Brittany Hoskinson and husband Michael, Bethany Lindsey and Brook Harris and husband Heath. She is also survived by 25 wonderful great-grandchildren.

Dee married Dwayne Riley on March 22, 2003. She was also blessed with a blended family that included daughter, Kathy Kennemer and husband Michael of Granbury; Vance Riley and wife Carmen of Granbury; Tamra Riley Cochrane of Granbury; grandchildren, Samantha Powell and husband Jeremy, Justin Kennemer and wife Erica, Connor Kennemer, Jacob Riley, and Coby Riley.

Dee made friends everywhere she went. While working at Texas Commerce Bank and as an Avon representative in the Shady Valley area, she made life-long friendships. At Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, she served in various ministries. She is probably remembered the most as one of the greeters. This was her most favorite thing to do. She was so good at welcoming people and letting them know they were loved.

While Dee, also known as Grandmama and Grammers, will be greatly missed, her family is overjoyed that she has seen her Savior, Jesus, face-to-face.
