David Wharton Dorton

David Wharton Dorton, 70, of Arlington, TX was called home to God on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at home.
A memorial service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a future date.

Mr. Dorton was born on September 14, 1951 to Robert Earl Dorton and Lois Jean Wharton Dorton in Galveston, Texas. He was an active participant in Boy Scouts, Little League Baseball and the Order of DeMolay, all of which instilled values that Mr. Dorton would carry with him throughout life.
After graduating from Ball High School Mr. Dorton volunteered for the Navy and served at Naval bases in Grand Prairie, Texas and the Subic Bay base in the Philippines as an Air Traffic Controller. He was always very proud of his service.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Dorton is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda ___ Dorton; sons David Earl Dorton of Fort Worth and Jon Mark Dorton of Arlington; granddaughter Lindsay Kai Dorton of Arlington; brother Paul Jarrett Dorton of Galveston and sister Bethye Dorton Kelly of Galveston; along with extended family, many friends and loved ones.
