David "Mike" Michael King

David Michael King, beloved husband of Elizabeth King and cherished member of the community, passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on October 2, 1955, to Arlie and Adene King. Mike leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering love.

Mike’s journey began in Grand Saline, Texas, where he attended Grand Saline High School. A determined and dedicated individual, he graduated in 1973 with a solid foundation for the successes that lay ahead. Continuing his education, he earned an Associate’s degree from Tyler Business College in 1976, equipping himself with the expertise needed for the business world.

Mike’s career flourished as he began working at Austin’s Shoes, where his unwavering work ethic shone bright. His dedication and commitment to excellence quickly propelled him to the position of regional manager. While the store ultimately closed its doors, Mike’s impact on the company and his colleagues was lasting. His compassion and patience made him a truly remarkable leader.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike was a loving and devoted husband to Elizabeth. Their bond was unbreakable, and they found solace and joy in each other’s presence. Sunday drives around town became a cherished tradition, as they explored the world together, hand in hand.

Mike was known for his warm and compassionate nature. As the favorite uncle, he had a special gift for bringing a smile to the faces of his nieces and nephews. His gentle spirit and thoughtful gestures touched the lives of everyone he encountered.

Survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth King, daughter Natalie, son Ethan, and granddaughter Anya, siblings, Patsy Wilson and husband Bob of Mansfield, Jerry King of Midlothian, and Gary King and wife Karen of Princeton, aunt Betty Weaver of Van, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mike leaves behind a profound void in the lives of his family and friends.
