David Michael Zappasodi
After a courageous battle with cancer, David Michael Zappasodi went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 15, 2023. David was born on April 8, 1979, in Baltimore, Maryland. His family moved to Texas in 1990, and after growing up in Kingwood, David attended LeTourneau University to graduate with a degree in Computer Information Systems, as well as the University of Texas at Tyler to complete his MBA.
David met his high school sweetheart, Rebecca and they were married December 16, 2000. They have four precious sons, Micah David, Grant Samuel, Cameron Luke and Jett Michael. Those who know David know that he was a man of strong faith and love for family. He coached baseball for all four boys and was often found playing noon ball at the local basketball courts. He launched two small businesses over the past ten years: A health insurance brokerage and a software consulting business. In addition, David helped start Arrow Christian Academy to support homeschool families. He was a man of integrity, honor, and truth. Many have shared with us that David was their favorite coach, co-worker, teammate, and friend, holding the utmost respect for the way he lived and served others.
David loved sports, wood working, being out on the lake, studying God’s word, cooking & grilling, and especially sharing a table with friends and family. He was a faithful man of God, wonderful husband, father, and provider and is survived by his parents David & Adel Zappasodi, brother: Matthew Zappasodi, wife Emily and their children, Luca, Leo, Olivia, and Emilia; sister-in-law Katie Zappasodi and her children Ava, Mia, and Eli, and numerous other family members including Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and friends. David is preceded in death by his brother Anthony Zappasodi, Grandparents Samuel & Diane Zappasodi, and Joseph & Patricia Kammerer.
We are grateful for the support of so many of you as you have prayed, called, written, donated, visited, hugged, and cried with us. You have been our tribe who has upheld us in the valley. The verse the Lord gave us in the beginning of this journey was Psalm 20:7 – “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Our trust was never in God healing David on this earth. We wanted his healing. We longed for it. We asked the Lord for more time with David, knowing if that was His will, David would be healed. But ultimately our trust is in the goodness of the Lord, despite how long we walk on this earth. This life is but a vapor. We will soon stand before the King of Kings.
We know David is with his Lord and Savior and until we see him again, our prayer is that you would know without a doubt that you too will meet the LORD of lords and the King of kings before your departure from earth. You cannot earn your way, you must believe, which means to depend, rely, and place your faith, hope, and trust in Jesus Christ to accept His redemption and salvation. We would love to share about the love and salvation that Jesus has for you!
We Love you, but more importantly we want you to know that Jesus loves you!
