Darrin Curtis Mcmichael

December 20, 1971 — September 21, 2023

It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darrin Curtis McMichael. Born on December 20, 1971, in Arlington, TX, Darrin was a loving husband, dedicated father, son, and a cherished member of his community. He departed from this world on Thursday, September 21, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and everlasting memories.

Darrin, known to many as “Boots,” was the president of the Iron Circle and lived a life filled with adventure and a passion for motorcycles. His love for the open road took him to many places, exploring new horizons and creating cherished memories along the way. He and his wife, Lynette, had a deep appreciation for travel, embracing every opportunity to everything life has to offer.

Darrin was a dedicated family man. He found solace and joy in working on The Lone Oak Farm and tending to his animals. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being a Bop Bop to his grandchildren. His oldest grandchild, Brexi, would put on overalls to match her Bop Bop and they would walk hand in hand to the chicken coop to feed the chickens and then over to the pasture to feed the cows. The bond Darrin created with his grandchildren will be cherished for generations to come.

With a genuine heart and infectious spirit, Darrin had an innate ability to connect with others effortlessly. His trademark smile and kind words could quickly turn strangers into friends. Darrin’s selfless nature was exemplified through his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a pillar of strength, always ready to provide guidance and support to those around him. His gentle presence brought comfort and reassurance, making him the voice of reason in times of turmoil.

Darrin was a dedicated and devoted father to his daughters, Natalie, and Daphne and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. While Daphne was on a trip to Utah, she called him to express how much anxiety she was experiencing about the drive back home. A selfless man, Darrin immediately booked a plane ticket and flew there to drive her home.

Natalie was affectionately referred to by Darrin as his “mini-me” and as a student at UTA, lived close by. They spoke every day, sometimes several times a day. He loved being a father and his memory will forever be in their hearts.

For 24 dedicated years, Darrin served his community as a valued member of the Arlington Police Department. His commitment to keeping others safe and ensuring justice prevailed made an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Through his outstanding service, he embodied the spirit of compassion, integrity, and true heroism.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we invite family, friends, and acquaintances to join us in celebrating his life. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. There will be an additional visitation prior to the service at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, at Crossroads Christian Church, 6450 S. Highway 360, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Cremation will be his final disposition, in accordance with his wishes.
