Darrell Alvin Turner, 65, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on November 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. Born on November 16, 1957, Darrell lived a life filled with joy, boundless energy, and a genuine desire to help others.
Darrell Turner is survived by his children, Savannah, Tamara, Shane and his wife Jessie, as well as his grandchildren, Landon and Coraline. Darrell also leaves a legacy of love and fond memories with numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
From the start of any gathering, Darrell had an uncanny ability to light up the room, captivating everyone with his infectious energy. He had a unique talent for bringing people together, creating lasting memories and forging deep connections. His charming personality and warm spirit made him the life of the party, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A compassionate soul, Darrell’s greatest joy came from lending a helping hand. Having faced his own share of challenges throughout life, he developed a strong sense of empathy and a heartfelt desire to support others. Whether it was offering guidance and wisdom based on his own experiences, or simply being a listening ear, Darrell was always there to offer his unwavering support. His dedication to serving others extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was in the process of establishing a Street Ministry to aid those less fortunate in his community.
Darrell was a true Dallas Cowboys fan through and through. His love for football was unmatched, and he proudly carried the title of the team’s #1 fan. He could often be found passionately cheering on his favorite team, engrossed in the game and sharing his excitement with anyone who would listen.
One of Darrell’s greatest sources of freedom and joy was his bike. Nothing brought him greater pleasure than feeling the wind rush through his hair as he rode with no particular destination in mind. It was during these rides that he found solace, peace, and a connection with the world around him.
Above all else, Darrell held his family in the highest regard. He took great pride in his family’s rich history and cherished being a part of the Turner lineage. The care and support he provided to his loved ones were unmatched, as he consistently put their needs first. For Darrell, family was everything, and he believed that there was nothing more important in this world than the bonds we share with one another.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate and honor the life of Darrell Alvin Turner at his memorial service, which will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 17, at Wade Family Funeral Home, located at 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Darrell Alvin Turner will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his love, laughter, and unwavering compassion be a reminder to us all to live life to the fullest and to cherish the moments we share with one another.
