Daniel "Danny" Joseph Bindel

MANSFIELD -- Daniel Joseph Bindel lost his courageous battle with cancer and joined his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Bindel, in heavenly salvation Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Danny was a proud and loving husband, father, brother, friend and lifelong Eagle Scout and Scouter. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated by the Rev. Thomas Craig and Danny's cousin, the Rev. David Konderla. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a rosary at 5 p.m. Danny was born Aug. 14, 1964, in St. Joseph, Mo. He brought a passion to his life through many friendships and activities. He will be missed by the Men's Club of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 6269, Boy Scout Troop and Venture Crew 222, Mansfield High School Band Booster Club and his brothers at Sigma Phi Epsilon. Danny established his career at Nationwide Insurance over almost 20 years and will be missed there as well. Danny was an unwavering Texas Rangers and baseball fan. His dedication to the team and sport originated from being a teenage bat boy and later employee. He gained his nickname, "Shoulders," from his work with the organization, which stayed with him throughout his life. Danny lived his life with his glass always half full. He is living another day in paradise. Survivors: Danny is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Valerie; sons, Ryan, 17, Spencer, 15, and Nicolas, 10. He is also survived by his siblings, Bridget Friswell (John), K.C. Bindel (Patsy), Michael Bindel (Glen Van Meter), Patsy Ledezma(Richard), Peggy MacKenzie (Don) and Kate White; 17 nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his children's grandmother, Ernestina Lopez-Bindel.
