Damon Lee Taylor

March 3, 1969 — August 18, 2020

Damon Lee Taylor was born March 3, 1969 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Rita and Robert Taylor. Staff Sergeant Damon Taylor served in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-1995 and again from 2002-2007. Damon was a two-time combat veteran, serving his country in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service in Operation Desert Storm was as a member of the 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Fox Battery Unit. During this stint, he earned the Navy Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. His service in Operation Iraqi was as a member of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. As a member of the 22nd MEU, Staff Sergeant Taylor oversaw 150 missions and once again earned the Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Achievement Medal. An accomplished Marine and owner of Strategic Portfolio Solutions, Damon would tell you that his greatest and most proud accomplishment was being a father to Cassidi Shea (Taylor) Martin. Outside of his military service, Damon had an adventurous spirit going on frequent scuba diving trips, traveling through Europe, taking his daughter skydiving, and driving way too fast on the North Texas highways. Damon will be remembered for his infectious smile, passion for life, and his fierce loyalty to his family, friends, and country. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Taylor, and his brother, Christopher Taylor. Damon is survived by his daughter, Cassidi Martin, son-in-law, Wesley Martin, granddaughter, Haddie Martin, mother Rita Taylor, and brother, Robert “Bobby” Taylor. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 A.M. at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Carry the Load, carrytheload.org or garysinisefoundation.org. Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
