Cynthia Ann Scott went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2022, at the age of 66.
Throughout Cindy’s two-year battle with ALS, God was faithful and kind.
A worship service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on July 9 at Fielder Church, 2011 S. Fielder Rd., Arlington Texas, 76013. A private burial ceremony for the family with be separately held.
Cindy was born in Waco, Texas to Ronald and Billie Jean Threadgill, also lifelong Texans. A childhood blessing was playing with her two sisters and countless nearby cousins, who shared a close family bond. After graduating from Richfield High, she attended McLennan Community College, where, while standing in a registration line, she met a handsome baseball player named Tommy.
Tommy and Cindy married in Waco in 1978, then moved to Arlington where Tommy began his career in education. While caring for her family, Cindy was also a faithful employee, including many years at Direct Choral Service and United Paramount Tax Group. Cindy excelled at many things, but delighted in diverting attention to others.
In her youth Cindy trusted in Jesus as her Savior, and He has held her ever since. God has blessed both Cindy and Tommy with true and long-time friendships, including many born at Fielder Church, where they have served in numerous ways over four decades. In recent years, a source of great joy for Cindy was her six grandchildren, who lovingly call her their “CiCi.”
Cindy’s parents preceded her to be with the Lord, after 69 years of joyful marriage.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband Tommy; her children Lindsey Walker (husband Chad) and Brett Scott (wife Maria); her sisters Linda Clynch (husband Pat) and Pam Thomason (husband Barry); and her grandchildren, Gibson, Ainsley, Bennett, and Knox Walker, and Ian and Lyla Scott.
Memorials may be given to Fielder Church (designated for “Church Planting Fund”), https://www.fielder.org/give/.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to healthcare professionals Dr. Alan Martin and Texas Neurology, and caregivers Amy Acedo, Jennifer Lozano, and Anne Kariuki, and to the many family and friends who have cared for them with kind words, prayer, and practical help.
