Dr. Cynthia Kidd, APRN , age 42, passed away peacefully in her home after a long illness, surrounded by family on Friday, January 18th, 2019. Cynthia lived a life characterized by devotion to others, pride in her accomplishments, and a passionate pursuit of knowledge.
Cynthia was born in Houston, Texas to Wanda (Tyson), now deceased, and Joe Kidd. She is survived by her parents, Sandra and Joe Kidd. She is forever remembered by her brother Joe Jr. and his wife Michele, niece Andrea and nephew Benjamin. Also survived by sister, Rebeka Stoppel and Peter Stoppel, nephews, Ian and William. She is lovingly survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cynthia devoted her life to caring for others, having attained a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Tech University in 2015. In her continuous pursuit of knowledge, Cynthia attained many licenses and certifications in the fields of acute care and mental health from the University of Texas, Arlington.
Having begun her career at Methodist Dallas Medical Center as a staff RN, she then moved to Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. In 2013, Cynthia worked at MHMR Tarrant County until 2018. She also opened a private practice devoted to first responders battling PTSD in Arlington.
Aside from her educational pursuits, Cynthia enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed many activities including photography, scuba diving, and bicycle riding, especially during her travels to foreign places. Most recently, she enjoyed her motorcycle, perhaps her greatest passion. She loved and was loved by her motorcycle family, having gone on many rides in the last year.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
