Craig Alan Ford

Craig Alan Ford, 68, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.

A Memorial Service for Craig will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington. Message Shaye Powell or Cindi Ford for information on the Celebration of Life following the service.

Craig was born October 4, 1954, in Arlington to Roderick and Mary Lou Ford. He graduated from Arlington High School in the class of 1972. Shortly after he started working at Ford’s Jewelry with his father and they became partners in owning Ford’s Jewelry from 1975 to 2004. He spent the last several years as a beloved member of Richard’s Custom Jewelers’ team, where his dedication to his craft was unmatched and his talent shone brightly through his exquisite work. Craig was admired by his peers and co-workers.

Craig married the love of his life, Benet Ford, on October 24, 1987 and shortly after welcomed their only daughter Shaye Powell. Family was so important to Craig. He made a comfortable home for his family and loved his wife for the last 35 years. He enjoyed snow skiing, hunting, fishing and golfing. Craig and his brother, Mike, won many golf awards at Shady Valley Country Club. He became a “poppy” in 2012 and was the best grandfather to his grandkids. You would see him taking them to the pool and still doing dives off the diving board.

Craig is best known for the love of his family, with his good nature wanting to make sure everyone was aright and taken care of. He was a wonderful friend who most would consider their brother. He was always steady, kind, happy and content with his life. He was extraordinary. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Craig is survived by his wife of 35 years, Benet Ford; daughter, Shaye Powell; brother, Mike Ford; sister, Cindi Ford; nephew, Nathanael Ford, niece, Annabelle Ford, and grandchildren, Lyla, Logan, and Libby.
