ARLINGTON -- Cosimo "C.O." Brocato, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, in Arlington.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis, Arlington. Interment: 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Cemetery in Shreveport, La. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers: Cosimo Murray, John Murray, Tony Papa, Dominic Cordaro, Gary Kaposta, Eric Kaposta and John Cook. Honorary pallbearers: Joe Looney and Art Adams.

C.O. was born in Shreveport, La., on Oct. 31, 1929, to Cosimo O. Sr. and Rosa Brocato. He had four brothers and four sisters. C.O. played for St. John's in Shreveport and graduated from Baylor University in 1953. He taught and coached at Jesuit High School in Shreveport from 1958-1967. He was the Northern Arizona University defensive coordinator in 1968, and University of Texas at Arlington in 1971. He began scouting for the Houston Oilers in 1974. He scouted for the Oilers/Titans organization for 41 years.
C.O. was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Brocato.
Survivors: Daughter, Rose Rebecca Brocato; grandsons, Cosimo Murray and fiancee, Mandy Walker, of New Orleans, La., John Murray and wife, Amanda, of Chicago, Ill., and Richard Williford and wife, Annette, of Shreveport, La.; like a son, John Cook of Tyler; close family members, Rose Lynne Liljeberg, Genevieve Liljeberg of New Orleans and Sammie Louise Montali of San Diego, Calif.; nephew, Joe Brocato of Kenner, La.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
