Corinne Nuttall Hetchler Lax

September 20, 1959 — November 11, 2021

Corinne Nuttall Hetchler Lax was born in Salt Lake City, UT on September 20, 1959 to J. Bruce and Joanna Dunyon Nuttall.

She would become the second of four children and the oldest daughter. Because of her father’s career in store management, the family often transferred to different cities and states. Corinne attended many schools, including ones in Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. After graduating from Hall High in Little Rock, AR, she returned to Arlington where she followed in her father’s footsteps by working at grocery stores, such as Skaggs and Tom Thumb. Corinne’s most recent job was with Acosta, where she took great pride in her work and formed lasting bonds.

Free spirited and fiercely independent, Corinne embraced life with gusto. Everywhere she went, she attracted friends, enchanting them with her infectious laugh and undeniable warmth. In her early thirties, Corinne welcomed two adorable children into the world, first a girl and then a boy. A few years after the marriage ended, she fell in love with Dennis Lax and married him in 2001, becoming stepmother to his two beautiful daughters.

On November 11th, 2021, at the young age of 62, Corinne passed away peacefully in her sleep after losing her courageous battle against cancer. She is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter Jordan, son Max, stepdaughter Stephany, stepdaughter Jenny, and grandson Kaiden, as well as her father J. Bruce, brother D. Bruce (Marie), sister Charisse (John), and sister Denice (Charles). She is preceded in death by her mother Joanna. Corinne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

One thing Corinne knew for sure was that she wanted to be a mom, feeling extremely blessed when her children were born. Early on, her daughter Jordan showed natural creative talent, and Corinne proudly displayed art throughout the house, including a stunning sculpture of a heart in hand that she kept on the hearth. Her son Max excelled in sports, first on the football field and then at the ice rink. Corinne embraced the title of “Hockey Mom,” attending every game and participating in fundraisers, such as spending long hours working the concessions at Ranger games. When her grandson Kaiden arrived, Corinne found new inspiration, every second with him giving her great joy. And, twenty years with husband Dennis brought much love and companionship.
